Tuesday Mar 17, 2015

On March 16th 2015 at 9:11pm, Whittier Police were called regarding an attempted kidnapping in the 15900 of Whittier Boulevard. An adult female was jogging on the sidewalk in the area of Whittier Boulevard and Virginia Avenue, when the suspect who was laying in-wait, jumped out and grabbed her.

Judges needed for La Serna High School’s Senior Project presentations Whittier

Dear La Serna Friend,

Once again it is time to begin looking forward to La Serna High School’s Senior Project presentations. As always, we have a strong desire to share our Senior Projects with the community. We are as eager to invite you to participate in this event as an evaluator of the students’ presentations. We would also like to encourage you to bring along a friend or family member to share in the Senior Project judging experience, as we need over 100 volunteers over the course of two days.

The Senior Project is an educational experience to which we at La Serna are deeply committed. We’re certain that you will agree that it is truly gratifying to witness some of the exceptional work that our high school students are doing.

Our presentation days are scheduled for Thursday, May 14th and Friday, May 15th.

The schedule is as follows:

  • 12:00 – Assemble in the Cafeteria for lunch and orientation

  • 1:00 p.m. – Adjourn to classrooms for presentations (conclusion approximately 3:00 p.m.)

Prior to the actual presentation days, the students’ completed portfolios will be available in the College Corner for reading though it is not mandatory to read them beforehand.

Please consider joining us for this worthwhile and inspiring event. If you would like to serve as a panel member please confirm via email as soon as possible. Or, you may call if you prefer. I will send you a reminder with details prior to the presentation day.
